This week we learned about using technology and more specifically assistive technology to use in implementing an online course. Sara made a good point that Moore has stated about technology constantly changing and we don't need to know everything, but we need to know enough to know if something is not working. I like that. With the technology evolving so quickly it's important to look out for new resources to use, but to be aware of when something is not working. Good teachers do that and evolve as needed.
I also liked Theresa's point that there's no right or wrong answer and also that we need to take the time to learn about these new resources coming out. All these resources that we learned about this week will not only help in assistive technology but also with students who are low readers or who need a little help in one area or another. It may be helpful to use these resources (such as SpeakIt) for all students in class regardless of whether they're SpEd or not, to offer variety and make things more interesting in class, like Dan pointed out. He had mentioned that teachers need to offer a variety to make learning more interesting. I think all students would enjoy learning about a new topic if they have a fun new resource to use in class.
