Whew! Am I ever glad this week is over. It's a week I kind of dreaded (taking the lead), but in the end it wasn't so bad and I learned a lot.
This week the focus was on managing the change in distance learning. I think the biggest take away was to make sure to keep learning, reading, and taking classes and training to stay up on new developments and shifts in thinking and processes. Dan talked about how change is scary, so did Genevieve. Dan also mentioned that the shift in student-centered learning will require discipline and management, which will have to be dealt with in making the shift. Genevieve mentioned that we need to keep adding skills, tools and resources to our professional toolboxes. I liked that statement. It sums up what we're discussing this week. Josie mentioned that there's not going to be one solution that works for everyone, which is a great point. She brought up the point that technology will always be changing and we'll need to deal with that through training.
